Knicks Sign Vanderbilt Center to Two-Way Contract

A longtime financial professional, Larry Greenfield most recently served as a desk leader for New York's Opus Trading Fund, where he started as a trader’s assistant. Larry Greenfield is a fan of New York sports teams, including the Knicks.

The most recent collective bargaining agreement between the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association allows for new “two-way” contracts, which afford flexibility in moving players between the developmental teams and the main roster. The New York Knicks recently took advantage of this new type of contract when it signed Luke Kornet.

Kornet played center at Vanderbilt University over the last two seasons. Last year, he scored an average of 13.2 points per game, along with 6.2 rebounds and two blocks. Under the terms of his new deal, he can spend as much as 45 days on the main Knicks roster over the upcoming season, with his salary calculated based on time spent on the developmental and NBA teams.
